The Ontario Traffic Council is pleased to update you on the status of our Bicycle Traffic Signals Guide.
The OTC worked with a cross-section of municipalities from across Ontario to develop this document. MTO provided technical input for this document. CIMA+ was retained as the project consultant.
The development of this guide dealing with bicycle signals was intended to serve as a companion to Ontario Traffic Manual Book 18: Cycling Facilities, which was created through a partnership between OTC, MTO and 12 Ontario municipalities.
As such, the OTC set out to create a substantive resource of information and guidance on issues related to bicycles at traffic signals, which builds upon what is currently contained in OTM Book 12: Traffic Signals and of course, OTM Book 18: Cycling Facilities.
