John Crass, President

John Crass currently works for the City of Burlington in the Transit and Traffic Department as Manager of Traffic Services. His areas of responsibility are traffic operations and school crossing guards. He manages all Traffic Calming Projects for Burlington and participates on several Committees such as the Burlington Road Safety Strategic Plan Task Force.

John has worked for the City of Burlington since June 1975 and had previously worked in their Engineering Department prior to joining the Traffic Section in 1980. Prior to starting with Burlington John worked for FENCO Engineering in Toronto and Stelco in their Lake Erie Development Office.

John is a member of OACETT, ITE, CARSP and AMCTO.

Prior to serving the OTC in the role of President John has been involved with our organization for many years. John joined the OTC as a member in 1989. He served as a member of the Burlington Local Arrangements Committee in 1989 and then Chaired the LAC in 2005. John joined the Traffic Engineering Committee in 2002 and became a member of the Board of Directors in 2005. He also served as Chair of the School Crossing Guard Guide Working Committee (2003 - 2005) which produced the OTC School Crossing Guard Guide.
